Tucked away on the banks of a serene lake, the cottage offered a welcome respite from the hustle and bustle. Although compact, it included all necessary amenities, enabling us to prepare meals while enjoying the stunning surroundings. Waking up to vibrant bird life was a highlight for both my children and me, fostering a keen appreciation for nature. The convenient location made it easy to explore Egilsstadir's shops and restaurants, and we particularly enjoyed a short drive to Vok Baths for a family day out. During our stay, an unexpected storm hit the area, but the owner went above and beyond to ensure we were safe and our needs were met. The keyless entry was also a handy feature for our busy family. If you're searching for a comfortable, family-friendly accommodation that allows easy access to Iceland's natural beauty, I highly recommend Ormurinn Cottages.
